A Report of  Pre-session Innovation Seats of “Methodological framework for Islamic social sciences"

On Saturday, April 30 pre-session innovation seats of “Methodological framework for Islamic social sciences" was presented by Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Hussein Bostan, Assistant Professor of Department of Sociology at Research Institute Of Howza and University.  After his  presentation, he was criticized by four critics. a short report of critiques are as follows:

Hojjat al-Muslimin Dr. Mohammad Taghi Sobhani, the scientific board member of the of Islamic Culture and Thought Research Institute as one of the critics questioned the use of the term "framework" in the research. He expressed the term is general and ambiguous. He also repeated his opposition to another  general term came as "Islamic Social Science"  in the title which should be specified more precisely, because the social sciences is very wide.

Hujjat al-Islam Hussein Sozanchi, the scientific board member of Baqer- Al-Olum as the second critics, claimed this approach can not be categorized as  (Hade Aksari ) in the process of religious knowledge production, and noted the approach is similar to (Miyani).

Dr. Mohammad Fath Ali-Khani,the scientific board member of Research Institute Of Howza and University as the third critics expressed : When a researcher introducing a  method, his method should at least meets the specified requirements, while this method can not give a correct answer to these requirements. As a result, in this way, it should be called a way of data collation than a method.

The last critics, Dr. Mohammad Taghi Abtahi, the scientific board member of Research Institute Of Howza and University, questioned the researcher that why we should limit to religious books to produce the mentioned knowledge?

After critics raised their criticism, Dr. Hussein Bostan tried to respond some of the critiques. He said : his approach is not a between approach(Miyani)  in the production of religious knowledge, as these approaches taking the basic principles from Islam, but in this method, despite the basic principles, statements also were obtained from Islam which distinguishes it from (Miyani) Approach.

 In response to Dr. FathAli-Khani, he responded that the fifth and sixth steps listed in the method, converting abstract propositions to concrete statements as they are come after data collections.

Dr. Gaini the scientific board member of Research Institute Of Howza and University as the Session Operator asked the participants, to pose their questions.

Finally, examiners Committee Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Khosropanah, the scientific board member of Islamic Culture and Thought Research Institute and the secretary of Support Staff of The Theory Making Seat, Criticism and Debate and Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Azerbaijani, the scientific board members of Research Institute Of Howza and University added some extra questions.

Dr. Azerbaijani said, Is not better Metaphysics issues come as the part of the philosophy of science. despite the  strength Of this research, Dr. Khosropanah Said to  Dr. Bostan writing a text with regard to the criticism, and  then the meeting can be continued.
