About RIHU:
Research Institute of Hawzah and University (Hawzah wa Dāneshgāh Research Institute) is a prestigious public research institute in Qom, Iran. Founded in 1981, the Research Institute of Hawzah and University is the first-born Research Institute in Iran after Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979. The Research Institute of Hawzah and University consists of four different faculties, with teaching taking place in its four distinct campuses, all situated in Qom and Tehran. The university operates 16 different departments and one separate research centre in Tehran. Driven by intellectual creativity and critical thinking since 1981, researchers and students at the RIHU have expanded horizons and contributed to moving the religion based knowledge of humanities and social sciences forward.
The RIHU offers researchers and students the opportunity to develop their talent and launches ambitious interdisciplinary initiatives to support its strong academic communities. Through research-based teaching – and by involving them in research – students are equipped to address society's challenges and needs.
Education at the RIHU:
The RIHU aims to prepare students for a broad range of academic jobs in the private and public sectors. For this reason, education at the RIHU covers specific skills and scientific methods as well as other more theoretical skills that will enable graduates to improve their qualifications. Teaching and research are closely integrated in order to achieve this, first and foremost by according them equal importance in the daily work of the academic and scientific staff and whenever possible basing the teaching on research.

Local:
RIHU enjoys a unique position in the Iranian higher education system in that its renowned quality of research based education makes it the top destination of choice for domestic undergraduate leavers as well as those who wish to pursue postgraduate study. Every year, the national university entrance exam (Concours) with over half a million participants in social sciences and humanities, open the RIHU’s gates to new students. Of those admitted to RIHU last years, most of them are employed as managers, researchers and top academic staff members. For students of Iranian nationality, mastering Islamic sciences is required as a prerequisite for entering the research institute's postgraduate courses.
International:
Research Institute of Hawzah & University welcomes international students with good academic records. This Institute is currently working with scholars over 15 different nationalities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
It is emphasized that the Institute admission is competitive, but each application is considered on its own educational background and merits, irrespective of the nationality of the applicant. There are more than 9 different postgraduate programs in RIHU to register and there is possibility to transfer from another university or being a visiting student to RIHU with different admission procedures. It should be mentioned that the RIHU is going through the necessary processes to enter the World University Rankings.
Education in the RIHU aims to create an attitude towards the fields of humanities and social sciences from the perspective of divine religions and integrate the authentic religious views and issues of humanities and social sciences with the aim of finding solutions. In these courses, students get to know and learn about the latest achievements of studies about the religious (Islamic) views on humanities and social sciences issues.
RIHU is a research-oriented academy encourages diverse scientific activities and this possibility is provided for students can focus on their scientific enterprises and enjoy education and research seamlessly.
Curriculum and Resources
The RIHU's Curriculum and educational resources will be exclusively from the works published by this Institute. Of course, it is worth mentioning that in the development of education, we benefit from other inspiring sources of scholars and from all scientific contributions that have helped to advance religious views to the humanities and social sciences, and they are taken into account in the educational programs. The institute's works reflect the original views of researchers specializing in Islamic sciences and one of the fields of humanities and social sciences and are representative of other views on this issue. The works of the RIHU are currently a teaching resource of many Iranian universities and institutions and have been translated and published in 13 languages and are also taught in scientific societies outside Iran and have been made available as research resources. They have received many citations and this is significantly visible in the publications (Journals) of the institute.
Housing
The RIHU's dormitory for Iranian and international students, located close to the main campus. The international students live in dormitories that are provided exclusively for them. The rooms in these dormitories are typically designed to accommodate three or four people. Although we do our best to put international students together in the same rooms, we do not guarantee the nationalities of the roommates.
