Fundamentals of Social Justice from the Perspective of Islam
Although social justice in Islam is one of the most fundamental pillars of an Islamic system, especially in the field of economics, it has been less considered for the emergence of important concepts such as economic efficiency, growth, and freedom. Undoubtedly, some differences in the theories of justice are rooted in the differentiation of foundations. The present book investigates the differences among these foundations as a decisive step in processing the Islamic economic system. The book introduces verses, narratives, and wisdom as the sources of knowledge for justice. Confirming the fact that justice is the underlying foundation of the evolution and legislation, it considers justice as a real, non-conventional, consensual, and recognizable issue to wisdom and believes that, instead of its creation and credit production, justice should be sought, discovered, and extracted from the verses, narratives, and wisdom. Parallel to the individual identity of the community members, the book considers a collective identity for the community, and, besides individuals’ rights, it assumes the community right. In this way, setting the social relations fairly, in addition to the principles concerned with individuals’ rights, it follows regulations such as the balance, which guarantee the collective rights.
