Each individual is interested in knowing himself and his position in this world and always seeks to answer the most fundamental questions about his own existence: What is the philosophy of his existence in this world? What is the meaning or purpose of his life? Why is he condemned to suffer in this world? The book addresses two of the most important sources to respond to these questions, i.e. religion and psychology. Over the past century, there has been an interesting exchange of views between psychologists and religious thinkers regarding the daily life issues and the meaning of life, and the present book seeks to understand this complex and constantly changing dialogue to involve it in our understanding of mankind.

Religion is the source of spiritual needs, and spirituality is also a product of heavenly religions. Psychology of religion is a branch of psychology that exclusively considers the scientific study of religious and spiritual behaviors, beliefs, and experiences with a psychological approach.

Some chapters of the book that introduce you the psychology of religion are entitled as follows: psychological approaches to religion and spirituality; theological and religious responses to psychology; science, religion and psychology; religious traditions; phenomenological approaches to religion and spirituality; psychodynamic and communication approaches, contemporary approaches, foundations of human development and spirituality, religion and physical and spiritual health, counseling and spiritual growth.
