تاریخ سیاسی امام حسن(ع) نسبت به دیگر بخش‌های زندگانی آن حضرت از پیچیدگی‌های بیشتری برخوردار است. دشمنی هدفمند و سازمان‌یافته امویان و عباسیان برای تحریف و دستکاری این بخش و گاه بی‌دقتی و نیز خطاهای دوستان نآشنا از اسباب اصلی این دشواری‌ها و نابسامانی‌هاست. کشف حقیقت نیاز به تتبع جامع و دقت لازم و دانستن علوم مختلف دارد. بر این اساس سعی شده تا با ارزیابی‌های مختلف و سنجش روایات، گزارش‌های مربوط به این بخش پالایش شده و با استفاده از نظرات دیگر اندیشمندان معاصر آنچه را که به صواب نزدیک تشخیص داده شده است در معرض دید و قضاوت خوانندگان فرهیخته قرار گیرد. این نوشتار که به سیره سیاسی آن حضرت از امامت تا شهادت پرداخته است در پنج بخش سامان یافته است. بخش اول، حوادث دوران امامت و خلافت امام حسن(ع) تا واگذاری خلافت به معاویه؛  بخش دوم، صلح و رویکردها و مراحل آن؛ بخش سوم، بازخوردها، تحلیل‌ها و حوادث پس از صلح؛ بخش چهارم، زندگانی امام حسن(ع) در مدینه (عملکردها و واکنش‌ها ) است که عملکرد غیر شرعی و غیر قانونی معاویه نسبت به مفاد صلحنامه و واکنش‌های امام را بررسی کرده است؛ بخش پنجم و پایانی نیز درباره شهادت و حوادث پیرامون آن است..

The political history of Imam Hassan (a.s.) is more complex than other parts of his life. The purposeful and organized enmity of the Umayyads and the Abbasids to distort and manipulate this section and sometimes the inaccuracies and errors of unknown friends are the main causes of these difficulties and disturbances. Discovering the truth requires comprehensive and accurate tracking and knowledge of various sciences. Based on this, it has been tried to refine the reports related to this section with various evaluations and evaluations of traditions, and by using the opinions of other contemporary thinkers, what has been recognized as close to correctness will be exposed to the view and judgment of educated readers. This article, which deals with the political career of the Holy Prophet from Imamate to martyrdom, is organized in five parts. First part: events during Imamate and caliphate of Imam Hassan(a.s.) until handing over the caliphate to Muawiya, second part: peace and its approaches and stages, third part: feedbacks, analyzes and events after peace, fourth part: life of Imam Hassan(a.s.) It is in Madinah (performances and reactions) that Muawiyah's non-Sharia and illegal performance in relation to the provisions of the peace agreement and Imam's reactions have been examined. The fifth and final part is about martyrdom and the events surrounding it.
