امروزه نقش دین و خانواده در تحولات خرد و کلان اجتماعی بر کسی پوشیده نیست و این درک عمومی نسبت به جایگاه این دو عامل اساسی در میان صاحب‌نظران و محققان رشته‌های گوناگون علوم‌انسانی نیز به وضوح قابل مشاهده است که نمود آن را در تولید ده‌ها هزار اثر مکتوب و نیز آثار فراوان غیر مکتوب در حوزه مطالعات دینی و مطالعات خانوادگی در کشورهای شرق و غرب عالم می‌توان دید. در این میان، بررسی‌های ناظر به مناسبات میان دین و خانواده از اهمیتی مضاعف برخوردارند و با این حال، به نظر می‌رسد ابعادی از این مناسبات هنوز آنچنان که باید و شاید واکاوی نشده‌اند. بر این اساس، همایش بین‌المللی مناسبات نوین دین و خانواده با هدف معرفی آخرین یافته‌ها در این عرصه در چهار بخش علوم‌اجتماعی، روان‌شناسی، علوم‌تربیتی و فقه و حقوق  با همکاری دانشگاه‌ها و مراکز علمی دیگر برگزار گردید.

Today, the role of religion and family in micro- and macrosocial developments is known to everyone, and there is a general understanding of the important position of these two basic factors among experts and researchers in various branches of humanities and social sciences, which is reflected in the production of thousands of written as well as non-written works in the field of religious studies and family studies in the East and West of the world. While studies on the relationship between religion and family are of paramount importance, it seems that various aspects of this relationship have not been investigated to the full. Accordingly, the international conference on modern religion and family relations was held with the aim of presenting the latest findings in the area within the four fields of social sciences, psychology, education, and jurisprudence and law in cooperation with universities and other academic centers.
This research was organized in order to answer such questions,and it examined the right to self-determination individual and social in Islamic thought, and explained its fundamentals, evidences, territory and effects.
