مدیریت بحران، علمی، کاربردی است که به‌وسیله مشاهده سامانمند بحران‌ها و تجزیه ‌و تحلیل آن‌ها، در جستجوی یافتن ابزاری است که به‌وسیله آن‌ها بتوان از بروز بحران‌ها، پیشگیری نمود و یا در صورت بروز آن، در خصوص کاهش اثرات، بحران و بهبودی اوضاع اقدام نمود. ایران پس از انقلاب اسلامی در 40 سال گذشته درگیر انواع بحران‌ها بوده است. این کتاب در قالب سه بخش و پانزده فصل تلاش نموده با توضیح و شناساندن انواع بحران علل شکل‌گیری بحران‌های متعدد در ایران پس از انقلاب و چگونگی(الگوی) مدیریت بحران در ایران بعد از انقلاب را بررسی کند؛ و به این سؤال‌ بپردازد که بحران‌های متعدد پس از انقلاب اسلامی چگونه مدیریت شدند؟ و روش مدیریت بحران در سیره رهبران انقلاب اسلامی چیست؟ این اثر ازلحاظ زمانی، بحران‌های سیاسی ـ امنیتی ایران در دوران پس از انقلاب اسلامی  را پوشش می‌دهد و در واقع در قالب عنوان کلی‌تر تحولات سیاسی اجتماعی پس از انقلاب اسلامی قرار می‌گیرد.
